Miles joined Callen-Lenz in 2020 as a software engineering graduate, working his way up to his current role as senior software engineer.
Miles studied software engineering at Bournemouth University and, in his third year, undertook a placement with Gill Research and Development, developing software for motorsports sensors and weather stations. Miles highlights the importance of a placement as an invaluable opportunity to use the theoretical knowledge from lectures for practical applications in the workplace and cannot recommend it enough.
During his spare time at university, Miles started experimenting with multi-rotor UAVs, which started from an aviation interest first inspired by a visit to the Bournemouth Air Show.
After graduating, Callen-Lenz offered Miles the perfect role, combining his love of software with his interest in UAVs. He works with customers to develop the right approach to solutions before producing the required software and testing it in-flight.
Miles has found that while the scale and capability of our projects and platforms have expanded, Callen-Lenz maintains its fundamental vision of novel, rapid development.
